With seven research centres and three research hubs, the quality and strength of our research is evidenced by our ranking of ‘well above world standard’ for all areas of education research. We are proud to be the only Australian university to receive the highest possible ranking for all research categories (2015 Excellence in Research for Australia results).
Lifting Australia’s education standards is critical and complex, and we have embraced our important role in shaping education policy and debate in Australia. Our contribution deepened significantly in 2016 with the four-part ABC documentary Revolution School. Set in Kambrya College, one of our network schools in Melbourne’s outer southeast, Revolution School demonstrated the impact of clinical teaching on student learning, highlighting the success of our world-class research and interventions.
Since 2008, our Master of Teaching has played a significant role in reshaping education through the clinical teaching approach. This is a major departure from traditional teacher education programs and connects university theory, professional knowledge and classroom experience.
